Healix has secured the contract to provide managed healthcare and medical assistance services for overseas employees of the New Zealand government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
“This is a significant new contract for Healix in the region and capitalises on the wealth of expertise we have in managing the delivery of healthcare services across the globe”, advised Rachel Edwards, General Manager of Healix (Australasia).
MFAT employees and their dependants have 24/7 access to the services via a dedicated medical desk, staffed by doctors and nurses based at Healix operational centres in Auckland and London. The services cover medical advice, referrals, case management, provision of prescription drugs unavailable locally, access to a global network of approved providers with direct billing facilities and emergency medical assistance services, including evacuation and repatriation where necessary.
Healix will also be providing MFAT with a unique pre-posting medical screening service for employees and their families. Utilising Queen’s Award winning software as part of an automated online medical screening process, Healix are able to accurately identify any medical risks an individual may face whilst on assignment. This allows the medical teams to evaluate those risks and where appropriate to propose suitable action plans to minimise the risk.
“The Healix philosophy of putting medical needs first, but with a clear view on ensuring value for money, was particularly important to MFAT in awarding us this contract”, continued Rachel. “MFAT was looking to access a global healthcare provider who could deliver a consistently high level of service for their staff across more than 54 locations outside of New Zealand. The combination of our medical expertise, international experience and ability to cost contain will give MFAT and its employees and their dependants the care they need whilst overseas.”
