Innovative solution to tackle medical assistance costs – and benchmark performance

Healix is tackling the commercial pressures facing travel insurers with a new innovative service. The Healix Medical Assistance Management Service capitalises on the wealth of experience Healix has in the international medical assistance market, to provide UK-based insurers with greater control over costs and quality of service.

"The current economic conditions are putting real pressure on travel insurers to offer a competitive service that also delivers a profit" confirmed Steve Hook, Sales & Marketing Director.  "But of course, it is hugely risky to try to cut costs on this frontline aspect of the travel insurance proposition - the reputational risks for poor quality service can be enormous.

"We have therefore developed a solution that ensures the best possible service is being delivered for the policyholder, but which also manages the costs incurred by the insurers."

The Healix Medical Assistance Management Service takes responsibility for every aspect of the medical assistance service with a clear goal to manage reputation and cost.  This includes the assessment, selection and contracting of assistance providers and cost containment agents.  Benchmarking performance in real-time is also an integral component of the service - against Healix's own performance standards which enable it to maintain its excellent reputation for innovation and service delivery in the UK travel insurance market.

The Healix solution also takes full control of managing service delivery and ensuring cost containment is aligned to case management at every opportunity.

"This latest initiative demonstrates our clear and continued commitment to the travel insurance market as a whole" concluded Steve Hook.  "We have a unique ability to combine medical care with cost containment without any detriment to patient welfare and we believe there is a real role for this solution in the current travel insurance marketplace."
